Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) Workshop

Emotion Focused Family Therapy gives families practical skills to support a loved one's recovery.

An older woman's hand and a younger woman's hand rest a few inches apart on a scuffed wooden kitchen table.

What it is

Offered since 2014, the EFFT Workshop teaches families and caregivers specific, practical skills to be an effective support. It is delivered over four morning sessions on Zoom, four to six times a year as needed.

The four skills you will learn

  • Emotion coaching — helping your loved one approach, process, and manage stress, emotions, and emotional pain.
  • Behaviour coaching — supporting symptom interruption and meals.
  • Healing relationships — repairing past hurts and strengthening connection.
  • Caregiver processing — working through the fears that can come up during recovery.

Who it's for

Parents, step-parents, spouses, partners, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends supporting a loved one, from age 10 to 50 and beyond.
